Fulfillment Hub USA – How to Multi Item Batch (MIB) Pick in ShipHero
The Multi-Item Batch (MIB) function in ShipHero lets you pick multiple orders at once, placing each order’s items directly into its own tote.
This workflow:
-
Keeps orders separated while you pick
-
Reduces time spent sorting items before packing
-
Minimizes the risk of mixing products between orders
1. Starting a Multi-Item Batch
-
Log in to the ShipHero Mobile App.
-
From the dashboard, tap Multi Item Batch.
-
Or open the Hamburger menu (☰) → Orders → Multi Item Batch Picking.
-

2. Choose the Number of Totes (Orders)
Each tote represents one order in the batch.
-
On the MIB screen, select how many totes you want to use.
-
Example: choosing 25 totes tells ShipHero you want to pick 25 orders in this batch.
-
-
ShipHero will then generate the batch and build the picklist based on those orders.

3. Picking Items into Totes
ShipHero will guide you through each location and SKU needed for the batch.
For each pick:
-
Go to the location shown on the screen.
-
Scan the item.
-
Scan a tote.
-
Place the item in that tote.
-
Scan the tote again to confirm placement.
As you continue:
-
If the order for that tote needs another item, the app will prompt you to put that new item into the same tote.
-
If the item belongs to a new order, ShipHero will ask you to scan a tote that isn’t yet in use.
If something goes wrong:
-
Scanning a tote already in use when a new tote is required will trigger an error message.
-
Scanning the wrong item will also show an error pop-up.

4. Reporting Issues & Tracking Progress
If you run into a problem (e.g., the system shows quantity at a location, but the bin is empty):
-
Tap the item on the pick screen.
-
Select Report Issue to log the problem for inventory review.
Pickers can also track their overall progress:
-
Tap Progress in the upper-right of the picklist.
-
This view shows:
-
How many orders are in the batch
-
Which totes are currently in use
-
How many items are left to pick
-

5. Completing the Batch & Default Settings
When all items in the batch are picked:
-
Tap Complete to finish the batch.
-
You can immediately start a new batch by choosing a new number of totes.
You can also configure a default batch size:
-
Go to My Account > Settings > App Settings.
-
Set a default quantity for Multi Item Batch so pickers don’t need to choose it every time.
If MIB feels slow:
-
Check the Replenishment Report to be sure inventory is in pickable locations; low or missing stock in forward pick bins can slow down the process.
-
For more details, refer to the Replenishment documentation in ShipHero.
